1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the St. Cloud Cathedral High School boys hockey team on winning the
1.32024 State High School Class 1A boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the St. Cloud Cathedral hockey team participated in the 2024 State High School
1.7Class 1A boys hockey tournament at Xcel Energy Center on March 6-9, 2024; and
1.8WHEREAS, after beating Northfield 5-1 in the quarterfinals and Warroad 4-3 in the
1.9semifinals, they defeated the top-ranked Hermantown Hawks 3-1 in the final game of the tournament
1.10to win their second state championship; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Crusaders finished the season with an outstanding 26-4-1 record; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.13congratulations are extended to the members of the St. Cloud Cathedral High School boys hockey
1.14team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.15BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.16enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.17Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of St.
1.18Cloud Cathedral High School.
