1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Edina High School boys hockey team on winning the 2019 State
1.3High School Class 2A boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Edina hockey team participated in the 2019 State High School Class 2A
1.7boys hockey tournament; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Eden Prairie Eagles 3-2 in overtime in the final game of the
1.9tournament to win the state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Hornets finished the regular season with an outstanding record; and
1.11NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.12congratulations are extended to the members of the Edina High School boys hockey team for their
1.13sportsmanship and skill.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.15enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.16Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Edina
1.17High School.
