1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Kasson-Mantorville High School wrestling team on winning the
1.32017 State High School Class AA wrestling championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Kasson-Mantorville wrestling team participated in the 2017 State High
1.7School Class AA wrestling tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Simley Spartans 45-18 in the final match of the tournament
1.9on Thursday, March 2, 2017, to win the state championship; and
1.10WHEREAS, for the KoMets, it was their second consecutive state championship and their
1.11third title in five years, a tremendous accomplishment deserving of special legislative recognition;
1.12and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to head coach Jamie Heidt and the assistant coaches and members of
1.15the Kasson-Mantorville High School wrestling team for their sportsmanship and skill.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the superintendent of
1.19Kasson-Mantorville High School.
