1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring champion wrestler Bailee O'Reilly.
1.3WHEREAS, wrestling demands agility, strength, timing, and stamina in addition to
1.4reservoirs of psychological discipline and resolve; and
1.5WHEREAS, Goodhue High School senior Bailee O'Reilly competed in the 2016 Minnesota
1.6State High School Class A wrestling tournament held February 25-27 at Xcel Energy Center; and
1.7WHEREAS, O'Reilly used two pins and two decisions against some of the best 152-pound
1.8wrestlers in the state to become champion, the first Goodhue wrestler in 18 years to capture a
1.9state title; and
1.10WHEREAS, Bailee also took second place in the 160-pound class at the USA Wrestling
1.11Cliff Keen Junior National tournament, an event he participated in with his brothers, Kaleb
1.12and Kelby; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14it congratulates Bailee O'Reilly on his state championship and acknowledges him as one of
1.15Minnesota's most gifted and driven scholastic athletes.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.17enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.18Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Bailee O'Reilly.
