1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Dennis Anhalt of KXRA radio in Alexandria.
1.3WHEREAS, Dennis Anhalt walked into the KXRA Studios in 1986 to apply for some
1.4part-time hours and never left; and
1.5WHEREAS, Dennis Anhalt has generously given of his time and talents to the Alexandria
1.6community for 30 years; and
1.7WHEREAS, Dennis Anhalt has continuously been a champion of education and the youth
1.8of Alexandria; and
1.9WHEREAS, Dennis Anhalt has provided informative and educational news and political
1.10information to the citizens of Alexandria; and
1.11WHEREAS, Dennis Anhalt, as the third host of Open Line in over 60 years, has continued
1.12the tradition of giving KXRA listeners and guests a voice and open line; and
1.13WHEREAS, Alexandria Mayor Sara Carlson has proclaimed January 27, 2017, as "Dennis
1.14Anhalt Day" in Alexandria; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16honors Dennis Anhalt of KXRA radio in Alexandria for his many contributions to his community
1.17and state over the years, and congratulates him on his special day.
1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.19enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.20Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Dennis Anhalt.
