1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Stillwater High School girls Alpine Ski team on winning the 2018 1.3State High School League girls Alpine Ski championship. 1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of 1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and 1.6WHEREAS, the Stillwater Alpine Ski team, after overcoming the losses of several skiers 1.7graduating last year, were one of eight teams that qualified for the 2018 State High School League 1.8girls Alpine Ski Meet on February 14, 2018, at Giants Ridge Ski Resort in Biwabik; and 1.9WHEREAS, the Ponies defeated second-place finisher Mankato West 148.0-147.0 to win 1.10their first state championship; and 1.11WHEREAS, the Ponies were led by Maggie Raedeke, who finished in ninth place overall, 1.12Maddie Neubauer, who finished in 18th, Kirsten Anderson, who finished in 22nd, and Katie Wallace, 1.13who finished in 40th; and 1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that 1.15congratulations are extended to the members of the Stillwater High School girls Alpine Ski team 1.16for their sportsmanship and skill. 1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an 1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the 1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of Stillwater 1.20High School.
