1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Steve Anthony Vekich of Duluth on receiving the
1.3Minnesota State High School League's Distinguished Service Award.
1.4WHEREAS, game officials play an extremely important role in high school sports; and
1.5WHEREAS, Steve Anthony Vekich has served as an official and member of the Lake
1.6Superior Basketball Association for more than 50 years; and
1.7WHEREAS, he has served as Association Treasurer and Assigner, and has been a leader in
1.8the recruitment and training of new officials; and
1.9WHEREAS, he continues to serve the Minnesota State High School League as an observer
1.10and evaluator of basketball officials; and
1.11WHEREAS, he was awarded the Minnesota State High School League's Distinguished
1.12Service Award on March 24, 2012, an important achievement that is worthy of recognition;
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.14congratulates Steve Anthony Vekich of Duluth on receiving the Minnesota State High School
1.15League's Distinguished Service Award.
1.16BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.17copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.18Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Steve Anthony Vekich.
