1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Danielle Schmidt of Dover, Minnesota, for receiving the
1.3Girl Scout Gold Award.
1.4WHEREAS, Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, helping girls
1.5to reach their full potential, develop positive values, and contribute to the improvement of society
1.6through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others; and
1.7WHEREAS, to earn the highest award given by the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., the Gold
1.8Award, a Girl Scout in high school must complete leadership journeys that help her discover her
1.9interests, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. She must then
1.10spend at least 80 hours planning and completing a comprehensive and sustainable take action
1.11project that uses her talent and passion to positively impact her community; and
1.12WHEREAS, Danielle Schmidt of Dover, Minnesota, attends Dover-Eyota High School and
1.13is a serving and responsible member of Troop 40120, River Valleys council, and has completed
1.14all requirements necessary to earn the Gold Award; her Gold Award project was titled "Veteran's
1.15Hospital Kids Bags"; and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota
1.17that it honors Danielle Schmidt of Dover, Minnesota, for receiving the Girl Scout Gold Award,
1.18and extends best wishes to her for the future.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Danielle Schmidt.
