1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Cannon Falls High School Speech Team on winning the
1.3conference championship.
1.4WHEREAS, speech promotes awareness of public affairs and develops the skills needed
1.5for articulate leadership; and
1.6WHEREAS, speech is a highly competitive event requiring long hours of research,
1.7practice, and preparation; and
1.8WHEREAS, high intellectual ability, forensic skill, and maturity are required to win
1.9a speech competition; and
1.10WHEREAS, the Cannon Falls Speech Team has had an outstanding season, including
1.11winning the Hiawatha Valley League championship; and
1.12NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.13congratulates the Cannon Falls Speech Team on winning the conference championship.
1.14BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.15an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.16the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the Cannon
1.17Falls Speech Team.
