1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Gage Robinson of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, for his efforts to raise
1.3awareness about child abuse.
1.4WHEREAS, child abuse is the physical, sexual, or emotional maltreatment of a child or
1.5children, and the effects of it can be extremely damaging and long-lasting; and
1.6WHEREAS, Gage Robinson, a 10-year-old from Cannon Falls, Minnesota, was shaken as
1.7a baby, and has suffered numerous physical and mental challenges as a result; and
1.8WHEREAS, in order to raise awareness and help others who have endured child abuse,
1.9Gage started "Gage Gives Back," a fundraising organization that raises money for organizations
1.10that helped him; and
1.11WHEREAS, in addition, Gage has volunteered with other organizations, including
1.12Children's Hospitals of Minnesota, the HOPE Coalition, and the Period of PURPLE Crying
1.13organization; and
1.14NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.15it thanks and commends Gage Robinson of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, for his efforts to raise
1.16awareness about child abuse, and extends best wishes to him for the future.
1.17BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.18enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.19Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Gage Robinson.
