1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Clarence A. Anderson of East Bethel, Minnesota, on his 90th birthday.
1.3WHEREAS, our communities are blessed by the presence of those who have lived long
1.4lives and who are part of our living history; and
1.5WHEREAS, having a 90th birthday is a joyous occasion and a time to honor and
1.6congratulate the celebrant; and
1.7WHEREAS, Clarence A. Anderson was born on April 12, 1924, in Forest Lake, Minnesota,
1.8graduated from St. Francis High School in 1942, and entered the United States Navy; and
1.9WHEREAS, after graduating as an Aviation Ordinance man, he served during World War
1.10II at the Naval Air Station in Astoria, Oregon, and later returned to Minnesota and married Myrtle
1.11M. Pochardt on May 7, 1949; and
1.12WHEREAS, he returned to Minnesota to take over his dad's farm in East Bethel; and
1.13WHEREAS, when he started in the carpentry trades, he worked for TNH Builders, Inc., a
1.14local company owned by the Tildahl family; and
1.15WHEREAS, all his life he has been active in the community in and around East Bethel in
1.16his church, local food shelf, and local community center; and
1.17WHEREAS, a celebration in honor of his 90th birthday will be held on Saturday, April 12,
1.182014; and
1.19NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.20congratulates Clarence A. Anderson of East Bethel, Minnesota, on his 90th birthday.
2.1BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
2.2enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
2.3Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Clarence A. Anderson.
