1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating the Edina High School boys hockey team on winning the
1.32014 State High School Class 2A boys hockey championship.
1.4WHEREAS, competitive sports in our high schools are helpful in teaching the principles of
1.5sportsmanship and fair play, thereby contributing to better citizenship; and
1.6WHEREAS, the Edina hockey team participated in the 2014 State High School Class 2A
1.7boys hockey tournament at the Xcel Energy Center on March 6-8, 2014; and
1.8WHEREAS, they defeated the Lakeville North Panthers 8-2 in the final game of the
1.9tournament to win the state championship for the 12th time in school history and back to back
1.10championships for the first time in school history; and
1.11WHEREAS, the Hornets finished the regular season with an outstanding 22-4-1 record,
1.12and have earned seven straight trips to the State High School hockey tournament; and
1.13NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
1.14congratulations are extended to the members of the Edina High School boys hockey team Head
1.15Coach Curt Giles, Assistant Coaches Dick Blooston and Dave Langevin, Volunteer Coaches
1.16Dan Delianedis, Dave Terwilliger, student managers Jack Vorlicky and Chris Enriquez, and
1.17players Kobi Boe, Paul Meyer, Ben Foley, Calvin Pugh, Ryan Zuhlsdorf, Kieffer Bellows, Cullen
1.18Raasch, Cullen Munson, Miguel Fidler, Parker Mismash, Garrett Wait, Casey Dornbach, Dylan
1.19Malmquist, Matt Masterman, Henry Bowlby, Sam Fuss, Tyler Nanne, and Andrew Rohkohl for
1.20their sportsmanship and skill.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare
1.22an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of
1.23the Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to the principal of
1.24Edina High School.
