1.1A Senate resolution
1.2commemorating the actions of Karri Plowman, Tony Paul Bigot III, and Gregory
1.3Wisa on New Year's Eve of 2014.
1.4WHEREAS, those who risk their own lives to save the lives of others are deserving of
1.5special legislative recognition; and
1.6WHEREAS, on New Year's Eve of 2014, upon discovering a woman unknown to them
1.7outside in only jeans and a t-shirt in freezing weather, Karri Plowman, Tony Paul Bigot III, and
1.8Gregory Wisa took action to save the woman's life; and
1.9WHEREAS, Karri Plowman called 911 and coordinated with emergency responders to
1.10ensure they were able to reach the woman, while Paul Bigot provided directions for Fire Rescue
1.11to the location of the woman and those assisting her; meanwhile, Gregory Wisa, a nurse, began
1.12performing first aid and accompanied the woman in the evacuation vehicle to continue monitoring
1.13her vital signs until she was safe; and
1.14WHEREAS, the actions of these three quick-thinking, courageous individuals allowed
1.15the woman to receive necessary medical attention, without which she may not have survived;
1.16because they worked rapidly to help a stranger, going above and beyond what is expected in such
1.17a situation, they deserve sincere thanks and commendation; and
1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.19honors Karri Plowman, Tony Paul Bigot III, and Gregory Wisa for their life-saving actions on
1.20New Year's Eve of 2014.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.22enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
2.1Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Karri Plowman, Tony
2.2Paul Bigot III, and Gregory Wisa.
