1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Rochester City Administrator Steve Kvenvold on the occasion
1.3of his retirement.
1.4WHEREAS, individuals who devote their time to serving their communities through a career
1.5in city government are deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.6WHEREAS, Steve Kvenvold has been employed by the city of Rochester for 46 years,
1.7serving as an assistant administrator before being appointed to the top position of City Administrator
1.8in 1979; and
1.9WHEREAS, as City Administrator, Steve holds the highest non-elective position in city
1.10government; and
1.11WHEREAS, over the course of his career with the city of Rochester, he has worked under
1.12five mayors and five council presidents; and
1.13WHEREAS, Steve will retire in 2017 after completing several ongoing initiatives, and a
1.14retirement celebration will be held on June 6, 2017; and
1.15NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.16commends Rochester City Administrator Steve Kvenvold for his many years of dedication and
1.17service to the city of Rochester.
1.18BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.19copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.20Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Steve Kvenvold.
