1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Mr. Bill Laden on the occasion of his retirement from East Side
1.3Neighborhood Services.
1.4WHEREAS, Mr. Bill Laden began his career at East Side Neighborhood Services 37 years
1.5ago and rose through the ranks to become the devoted and dedicated President; and
1.6WHEREAS, under his proactive, calming leadership, East Side Neighborhood Services
1.7expanded programming to help an ever-changing and growing community achieve a better life;
1.8and
1.9WHEREAS, under his collaborative, resourceful leadership, East Side Neighborhood Services
1.10completed a successful capital campaign and opened a new building in 2001 without taking on any
1.11new debt; and
1.12WHEREAS, Mr. Laden has earned the respect and deep appreciation of many staff members,
1.13politicians, business owners, and community members for his work to strengthen Northeast and
1.14Southeast Minneapolis and make East Side Neighborhood Services a robust community partner;
1.15and
1.16NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.17recognizes and thanks Mr. Bill Laden for his commitment and service to East Side Neighborhood
1.18Services and wishes him and his family the best in retirement.
1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.20enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.21Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Mr. Bill Laden.
