1.2congratulating Matthew F. Cook of Edina, Minnesota, for receiving the 1.3Eagle Award. 1.4WHEREAS, the Eagle Award is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America; and 1.5WHEREAS, attaining the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts is an important achievement 1.6that is worthy of recognition; and 1.7WHEREAS, Matthew F. Cook is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 68 and has 1.8displayed the attributes of a responsible and serving member; and 1.9WHEREAS, he has demonstrated mastery of all scouting skills and completed a 1.10community service project, which involved leading a team of volunteers in repairing, improving, 1.11and creating flagstone walkways on the grounds of the Episcopal Church of St. Stephen the 1.12Martyr and restoring a masonry staircase in its Memorial Garden; and 1.13WHEREAS, his candidacy for the rank of Eagle Scout has been approved by the 1.14advancement committees of Troop 68, of the Mustang District of the Northern Star Council, and 1.15the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America; and 1.16WHEREAS, an Eagle Court of Honor will be held; and 1.17NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it 1.18congratulates Matthew F. Cook of Edina, Minnesota, for receiving the Eagle Award. 1.19BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a 1.20copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the 1.21Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Matthew F. Cook.
