1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Ellie Lundquist on being named Volunteer of the Year.
1.3WHEREAS, after close to 25 years as a nurse at Regina Hospital, Ellie Lundquist retired
1.4ready to embrace a new part of life, one free to choose how and where to spend her time; and
1.5WHEREAS, Ellie chose to spend that time volunteering for Regina Hospital, and in the last
1.6six years since she retired she has accumulated over 5,800 hours of volunteer time in various areas
1.7throughout the hospital; and
1.8WHEREAS, her dedication and attention to detail impacts the entire hospital and her kindness
1.9and energy are contagious; she often wakes up to get ready as early as 3 a.m., is out of her house
1.10by 4 a.m., and is at the hospital by 5 a.m. in time to prepare for escorting patients; and
1.11WHEREAS, her talents as a nurse allows her to volunteer across six departments, making
1.12her an extremely versatile volunteer; and
1.13WHEREAS, she has a way of putting patients at ease with her caring demeanor and is known
1.14for putting everyone else's needs above her own; and
1.15WHEREAS, she is the true definition of a volunteer, enthusiastic to lend her gifts where and
1.16when they are needed most; and
1.17WHEREAS, based on these outstanding qualifications, Ellie was named Volunteer of the
1.18Year by the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce; and
1.19NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.20congratulates Ellie Lundquist on being named Volunteer of the Year and commends her on her
1.21service to her community.
1.22BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.23enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.24Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Ellie Lundquist.
