1.1A Senate resolution
1.2honoring Robert Dols of Willmar for his service to the community.
1.3WHEREAS, those civic-minded individuals who work tirelessly in their communities
1.4perform an important service deserving of special legislative recognition; and
1.5WHEREAS, Robert Dols, owner and president of Northern States Supply, has used his
1.6experience to help the community through his casual demeanor and by being a proven leader
1.7who leads with optimism and by example; and
1.8WHEREAS, Robert was a recipient of the Sam Walton Award in 1998 for his community
1.9service, and has worked with charitable organizations such as the YMCA, United Way of
1.10Kandiyohi County, and the Vinje Church Stewardship Committee; and
1.11WHEREAS, he serves on the Bremer Bank Board of Directors and is President of
1.12Pacesetter Campaign; and
1.13WHEREAS, on education issues, he has been active in Willmar Public Schools, the
1.14Willmar Public Schools Vote Yes Twice campaign, the Ridgewater College Foundation Board,
1.15and Vision 2020; and
1.16WHEREAS, as part of his commitment to employee rights, his company was the first in
1.17Willmar to start an employee stock ownership plan; and
1.18WHEREAS, he has worked the last ten years to improve the transportation corridor
1.19between Duluth and Sioux Falls and is Chair of the Highway 23 Task Force; and
2.1WHEREAS, he has served on the Willmar Lakes Chamber of Commerce for three years,
2.2the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce for two terms, and the United Way of Kandiyohi County
2.3Pillar Club; and
2.4WHEREAS, he gets involved in politics at the school, city, county, and state levels, and is
2.5active in Grow MN!, the state chamber's public policy committee; and
2.6NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
2.7recognizes Robert Dols of Willmar for his service to the community.
2.8BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
2.9enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
2.10Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Robert Dols.
