1.1A Senate resolution
1.2congratulating Brigham Drevlow of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, for
1.3receiving the Eagle Award.
1.4WHEREAS, the Boy Scouts of America is an organization dedicated to promoting community
1.5involvement, character building, citizenship, and personal fitness; and
1.6WHEREAS, the highest advancement rank is the rank of Eagle Scout and to earn the rank,
1.7a Boy Scout must fulfill specific requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor skills;
1.8and
1.9WHEREAS, the rank of Eagle Scout is the highest honor, promoting community service
1.10which will serve the young man throughout his life; and
1.11WHEREAS, the scout must earn 21 merit badges in addition to planning, developing, and
1.12leading others in a service project helpful to a religious institution, school, or community; and
1.13WHEREAS, Brigham Drevlow led a team of scouts and adults to repair a log cabin structure,
1.14replace its roof, clear brush and small trees around the structure to improve visibility and safety,
1.15and install an interactive map sign; and
1.16WHEREAS, Brigham Drevlow, as a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 57, has
1.17attained the highest honor of scouting, the rank of Eagle Scout; and
1.18NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.19commends Brigham Drevlow of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, for his dedication and congratulates
1.20him on earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
1.21BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare a
1.22copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the Chair of the
1.23Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Brigham Drevlow.
