1.1A Senate resolution
1.2commending Bill Sumner for his years of service to the Newport City
1.3Council.
1.4WHEREAS, those who work tirelessly for the betterment of their communities perform a
1.5valuable public service worthy of legislative recognition; and
1.6WHEREAS, Bill Sumner served as a member of the Newport City Council until his term
1.7concluded on December 31, 2020; and
1.8NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that it
1.9thanks Bill Sumner for his years of service to the Newport community and extends warm wishes
1.10for his future endeavors.
1.11BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is directed to prepare an
1.12enrolled copy of this resolution, to be authenticated by the Secretary's signature and that of the
1.13Chair of the Senate Rules and Administration Committee, and transmit it to Bill Sumner.
