1.1A senate resolution
1.2honoring Bruce London on the occasion of his
1.3retirement.
1.4WHEREAS, the strength of our communities and the success of
1.5our state depend upon the dedication and leadership of strong
1.6individuals; and
1.7WHEREAS, Officer Bruce London of the Brainerd Police
1.8Department is retiring after 27 years of diligent service; and
1.9WHEREAS, Officer London has been a true asset to the
1.10department throughout his career and has taken the motto "to
1.11protect and serve" to its highest level; and
1.12WHEREAS, Officer London handled the most complex tasks and
1.13difficult investigations with great professionalism, success,
1.14and understanding; and
1.15WHEREAS, he specialized with victim crimes, was an
1.16excellent undercover officer, and was an active member of the
1.17local child protection team's investigative section; and
1.18WHEREAS, included among his many accomplishments are
1.19creating the NET VI drug task force, presenting area banking
1.20institutions a security program that actually re-enacted a bank
1.21robbery, and an unparalleled conviction rate; and
1.22WHEREAS, Officer London is active in the community as a
1.23youth mentor and interacting with the woman's shelter; NOW,
1.24THEREFORE,
2.1BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
2.2it thanks Officer Bruce London for his remarkable career and
2.3service to the Brainerd Police Department and wishes him the
2.4best during his retirement.
2.5BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is
2.6directed to prepare an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be
2.7authenticated by his signature and that of the Senate Majority
2.8Leader, and transmit it to Bruce London.
