1.1A senate resolution
1.2congratulating Eleanor "Ellie" Wolfe of Albert Lea,
1.3Minnesota, on her 100th birthday.
1.4
1.5WHEREAS, our communities are blessed by the presence of
1.6those who have lived long lives and who are part of our living
1.7history; and
1.8WHEREAS, having a 100th birthday is a joyous occasion and a
1.9time to honor and congratulate the celebrant; and
1.10WHEREAS, Eleanor "Ellie" Wolfe was born on May 20, 1905, in
1.11Faribault, Minnesota; and
1.12WHEREAS, when she was born, Theodore Roosevelt was
1.13president, and she has since seen 18 presidents take office; and
1.14WHEREAS, Ellie married Leonard Wolfe and in 1957 moved to
1.15Albert Lea; and
1.16WHEREAS, Ellie was married to Leonard for 66 years before
1.17his passing 11 years ago, and she has three wonderful sons who
1.18describe their mother as being loving, a great cook, and a
1.19strict task-master; and
1.20WHEREAS, after going through the Depression, Ellie
1.21appreciates all the good things in life; and
1.22WHEREAS, she stays active by going to the Senior Center
1.23every Tuesday and Thursday to play cards; and
1.24WHEREAS, Ellie celebrated her 100th birthday with friends
2.1at the Albert Lea Senior Center; NOW, THEREFORE,
2.2BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Minnesota that
2.3it congratulates Eleanor "Ellie" Wolfe of Albert Lea, Minnesota,
2.4on her 100th birthday.
2.5BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is
2.6directed to prepare an enrolled copy of this resolution, to be
2.7authenticated by his signature and that of the Senate Majority
2.8Leader, and transmit it to Eleanor "Ellie" Wolfe.
