1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to health; modifying provisions relating to 1.3 the plumbing code advisory council; establishing a 1.4 work group; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 1.5 326.41. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 326.41, is 1.8 amended to read: 1.9 326.41 [ADVISORY COUNCIL.] 1.10 The state commissioner of health shall appointsevennine 1.11 persons to the advisory council on plumbing code and 1.12 examinations,onetwo of whom shall bea practicalmaster 1.13plumber, one a practical journeyman plumber, and one a1.14representative of the commissionerplumbers, one who represents 1.15 greater Minnesota and one who represents the metropolitan area, 1.16 and two journeyman plumbers, one who represents greater 1.17 Minnesota and one who represents the metropolitan area. The 1.18 council shall expire and the terms, compensation and removal of 1.19 members of the council shall be as provided in section 15.059, 1.20 except that the council shall not expire before June 30,19951.21 2003. 1.22 Sec. 2. [PLUMBING WORK GROUP.] 1.23 The commissioner of health shall establish a work group to 1.24 study and report to the commissioner by January 1, 1996, 1.25 recommendations for proposed statutory revisions to Minnesota 2.1 Statutes, chapter 326, that will ensure public health protection 2.2 through regulation of plumbing and water conditioning 2.3 installations. The work group shall consist of representatives 2.4 of plumbers, water conditioners, local and state units of 2.5 government, and affected statewide trades and organizations.
