A bill for an act
relating to background checks; extending authority for delayed submission of
fingerprints for essential workers; amending Laws 2020, chapter 71, article 2,
section 26, subdivision 5.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Laws 2020, chapter 71, article 2, section 26, subdivision 5, is amended to read:


Subd. 5.

Expiration.

This section expires on deleted text begin March 1, 2021deleted text end new text begin ....... or 60 days following
the end of the peacetime public health emergency, whichever is later. For purposes of this
paragraph, "peacetime public health emergency" means any peacetime emergency declared
by the governor in an executive order that relates to the infectious disease known as
COVID-19
