A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a grant to African
Career, Education, and Resources, Inc., and the Organization of Liberians in
Minnesota.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; THE ORGANIZATION OF LIBERIANS IN
MINNESOTA AND AFRICAN CAREER, EDUCATION, AND RESOURCES, INC.

new text begin $500,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the workforce development fund to
the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the African
Career, Education, and Resource, Inc., and the Organization of Liberians in Minnesota to
expand their business career pathways for new Americans. Grant proceeds may be used for
training opportunities for participants, including entrepreneurship training; association
program costs, including staff costs; and work readiness training in high-demand health
care fields. This is a onetime appropriation.
