A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; appropriating money to the commissioner of agriculture
for a grant to a county soil and conservation district for an irrigation pilot project.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin IRRIGATION WATER PILOT PROJECT; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
agriculture for a grant to the ....... County Soil and Conservation District for funding a
three-year pilot project that tests the capabilities of new flow-through, nonchemical
technologies applied to irrigation water. The goal of the pilot project is to reduce irrigation
water usage and improve crop yield. This appropriation is available until December 31,
2026. This is a onetime appropriation.
