A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for site selection planning and
acquisition for a new facility to be known as the Oyate Ota Center.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; AMERICAN INDIAN FAMILY CENTER.

new text begin $2,000,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to American Indian Family Center,
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to acquire property for the Oyate Ota Center to house
multiple American Indian nonprofit organizations and provide access to culturally specific
services including mental and chemical health, employment, housing, family support, a
culturally specific emergency food shelf, and culturally specific early childhood education.
This appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to
Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642. This is a onetime appropriation.
