A bill for an act
relating to housing; requiring a report on contractors receiving financing from the
housing finance agency; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 462A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin (a) In addition to collecting information on contractor requirements for a certificate of
compliance under section 363A.36 for projects receiving any financing under chapter 462A,
the commissioner shall also collect contractor data for veteran-owned small businesses as
defined in section 16C.16, subdivision 6a, and for LGBTQ-owned businesses. For the
purposes of this section, a "LGBTQ-owned business" means a business that is certified by
the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce.

new text begin (b) By February 1 of each even-numbered year, the commissioner shall submit a report
to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees with jurisdiction
over housing finance on the public data collected by the agency in the previous calendar
year under this section. At a minimum, the report must include the total number and dollar
amount of all contracts and subcontracts, for each business category in paragraph (a).
