A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a day shelter in the city of
St. Paul.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; LISTENING HOUSE.

new text begin $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Listening House of St. Paul, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to acquire real property, including a building and parking
lot on parcels located at 421, 423, and 423a East 7th Street in the city of St. Paul to serve
as a permanent day shelter. This appropriation is onetime and is available until the project
is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
