A bill for an act
relating to unemployment insurance; modifying the effect of certain payments on
unemployment benefits during peacetime emergency declaration.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

PEACETIME EMERGENCY DECLARATION.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 268.085, subdivision 3b, paragraph (a),
unemployment benefit eligibility for an applicant shall not be delayed for an unemployment
insurance benefit account established between March 1, 2020, and December 31, 2020,
with respect to a benefit week because the applicant is receiving, has received, or will receive
separation pay, severance pay, or bonus pay paid by an employer because of, upon, or after
separation from employment.
