A bill for an act
relating to human services; establishing a grant for a pilot project to teach the
DirectCourse curriculum; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; DIRECTCOURSE PILOT PROJECT.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
human services for a grant to the Minnesota Ethnic Providers Network to develop and
implement an in-person pilot program to teach the Department of Human Services'
DirectCourse curriculum to bilingual individuals and individuals with diverse ethnic
backgrounds. Within six months of the conclusion of the pilot project, the Minnesota Ethnic
Providers Network must provide the commissioner with an evaluation of the project as
determined by the commissioner. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June
30, 2027.
