relating to health; establishing a grant program for a seizure detection device public
awareness campaign; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin PROGRAM ESTABLISHED; SEIZURE DETECTION DEVICE
CAMPAIGN.

new text begin The commissioner of health shall establish a grant program to promote a seizure detection
device public awareness campaign. The commissioner must award grants under this program
to a statewide epilepsy advocacy organization that will disseminate information on coverage
of seizure detection devices under Minnesota's medical assistance program and how eligible
individuals can obtain the device. The organization receiving funds for the public awareness
campaign under this section must perform awareness-raising activities, including but not
limited to training, outreach events including culturally specific events and virtual events,
social media and multichannel marketing, press releases, briefings, and commentaries.

new text begin $....... in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of
health for a grant program to promote a seizure detection device public awareness campaign.
This is a onetime appropriation and is available until June 30, 2030.
