A bill for an act
 relating to capital investment; appropriating money for a grant to Walker West
Music Academy to acquire and improve property to support youth music education.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; WALKER WEST MUSIC ACADEMY.

new text begin $5,400,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to Walker West Music Academy, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to acquire property, predesign, design, construct, renovate,
furnish, and equip a building in the city of St. Paul to support youth music education. This
appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to Minnesota
Statutes, section 16A.642. This is a onetime appropriation.
