  1.4             program at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [TRANSIT APPROPRIATION TO UNIVERSITY OF 
  1.7   MINNESOTA-DULUTH.] 
  1.8      $225,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of transportation for the fiscal year starting July 
  1.10  1, 2000, for a grant to the University of Minnesota-Duluth for 
  1.11  the purpose of establishing a transit demonstration bus pass 
  1.12  program to promote the use of public transit and thereby 
  1.13  decrease traffic and parking problems in and around the campus 
  1.14  area.
