A bill for an act
relating to human services; modifying medical assistance coverage to include
consultations with psychologists; amending Minnesota Statutes 2012, section
256B.0625, subdivision 48.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 256B.0625, subdivision 48, is amended to
read:


Subd. 48.

Psychiatric consultation to primary care practitioners.

psychologist, or an advanced practice registered nurse
new text end via telephone, e-mail, facsimile,
or other means of communication to primary care practitioners, including pediatricians.
The need for consultation and the receipt of the consultation must be documented in
the patient record maintained by the primary care practitioner. If the patient consents,
and subject to federal limitations and data privacy provisions, the consultation may be
provided without the patient present.
