A bill for an act
 relating to veterans; appropriating money to the commissioner of veterans affairs
to make grants to counties for the operation of county veteran service offices.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $5,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of veterans
affairs for fiscal year 2007 for grants to county veterans service offices. The commissioner
shall distribute this funding to counties, as grants for county veteran service officer
salaries, benefits, and supplies based on a combination of county population and veteran
population in the county.
