  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; providing an increased levy 
  1.3             limit base for the city of Robbinsdale. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [CITY OF ROBBINSDALE; LEVY LIMIT ADJUSTMENTS.] 
  1.6      (a) If property taxes remain subject to general levy 
  1.7   limitations under state law for taxes levied in 2000, the levy 
  1.8   limit base of the city of Robbinsdale for taxes levied in 2000 
  1.9   under Minnesota Statutes, section 275.71, or a successor law, is 
  1.10  increased by $400,000.  
  1.11     (b) If property taxes remain subject to general levy 
  1.12  limitations under state law for taxes levied in 2001, the levy 
  1.13  limit base of the city of Robbinsdale for taxes levied in 2001 
  1.14  under Minnesota Statutes, section 275.71, or a successor law, is 
  1.15  increased by an additional $400,000. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     (a) Section 1, paragraph (a), is effective for taxes levied 
  1.18  in 2000 if the condition in section 1, paragraph (a), occurs and 
  1.19  the governing body of the city of Robbinsdale and its chief 
  1.20  clerical officer have completed their compliance with Minnesota 
  1.21  Statutes, section 645.021, subdivisions 2 and 3.  
  1.22  Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 
  1.23  3, the certificate of approval must be filed before September 
  1.24  16, 2000. 
  2.1      (b) Section 1, paragraph (b), is effective for taxes levied 
  2.2   in 2001 if the condition in section 1, paragraph (b), occurs and 
  2.3   the governing body of the city of Robbinsdale and its chief 
  2.4   clerical officer have completed their compliance as specified in 
  2.5   paragraph (a) of this section.
