relating to education; requiring life plans for students; repealing involuntary
career tracking prohibition; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 120B; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 120B.125.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A student must have a six-year life plan for graduation before entering the ninth
grade to ensure the student is taking the proper sequence of courses to prepare them for
their career goals. The life plan for graduation must include transition strategies from
middle to high school and from high school to postsecondary opportunities.
