A bill for an act
 relating to agriculture; appropriating money for copacking, cold storage, and
commercial kitchen facility expansion.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; COLD STORAGE AND COMMERCIAL KITCHEN
SUPPORT.

new text begin $250,000 in fiscal year 2025 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of agriculture for grants to support copacking, cold storage, and commercial kitchen facility
expansion. The appropriation under this section is made consistent with the agricultural
growth, research, and innovation program under Minnesota Statutes, section 41A.12. The
commissioner must prioritize grants to recipients in underserved communities as defined
in Minnesota Statutes, section 17.1017, subdivision 1. The commissioner may use up to 6.5
percent of this appropriation for administrative costs.
