  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state government; authorizing electronic 
  1.3             disbursement of port authority funds; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 469.051, subdivision 
  1.5             4. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 469.051, 
  1.8   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [TREASURER'S DUTIES.] The treasurer: 
  1.10     (1) shall receive and is responsible for port authority 
  1.11  money; 
  1.12     (2) is responsible for the acts of the assistant treasurer; 
  1.13     (3) shall disburse port authority money by check only or 
  1.14  electronic procedures; 
  1.15     (4) shall keep an account of the source of all receipts, 
  1.16  and the nature, purpose and authority of all disbursements; and 
  1.17     (5) shall file the authority's detailed financial statement 
  1.18  with its secretary at least once a year at times set by the 
  1.19  authority. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.21     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
