A bill for an act
relating to public safety; appropriating money to secure federal matching grants
necessary to repair the Hastings hydroelectric plant.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $367,538 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of public safety
for fiscal year 2007. The appropriation shall be used to obtain natural disaster matching
funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency that are necessary to reimburse
the city of Hastings for repairs to the city's hydroelectric plant. This appropriation is in
addition to appropriations to the commissioner under Laws 2005, chapter 136, article 1,
section 9, subdivision 2. This is a onetime appropriation.
