  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [BUFFALO SCHOOL YEAR.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 126.12, 
  1.8   subdivision 1, and Laws 1997, First Special Session chapter 4, 
  1.9   article 7, section 49, subdivision 1, for the 1998-1999 and 
  1.10  1999-2000 school years only, independent school district No. 
  1.11  877, Buffalo, may begin the school year any day prior to Labor 
  1.12  Day.
