A bill for an act
relating to health; prohibiting therapies and procedures performed for the treatment
of gender dysphoria in minors; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 145.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [145.4225] PROHIBITED TREATMENTS FOR GENDER DYSPHORIA
IN MINORS.

new text begin (a) All licensed or regulated health care providers are prohibited from the following
when treating gender dysphoria in minors:

new text begin (1) performing or assisting with sex reassignment surgery or any other surgical procedures
that alters primary or secondary sexual characteristics; and
new text end

new text begin (2) prescribing, dispensing, or administering puberty blocking hormones or hormone
antagonist therapies.

new text begin (b) Notwithstanding paragraph (a), a licensed or regulated health care provider may
continue the prescription, dispensation, or administration for puberty blocking hormones
or hormone antagonist therapies for a minor who is receiving such treatment prior to the
effective date of this act.
