A bill for an act
 relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to African
Career Education and Resource, Inc.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin AFRICAN CAREER EDUCATION AND RESOURCE, INC.;
APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $4, 919,000 in fiscal year 2024 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to African Career Education and
Resource, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to acquire, predesign, design, and renovate
a building in the city of Brooklyn Center that will support business development, business
incubation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development in the Black and People of Color
community. This is a onetime appropriation and is available until the project is completed
or abandoned, subject to Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
