A bill for an act
relating to workforce development; providing support for a career pathways and
workforce development program; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin YWCA CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAM; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $1,600,000 in fiscal year 2017 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the St. Paul
YWCA for a career pathways program for low-income workers and workers from
communities of color. Grant funds must be used to provide comprehensive workforce
development programs and services, including but not limited to training, education,
workforce readiness, job coaching and support, GED services and support, job placement,
and postplacement support services. This is a onetime appropriation and is available
until June 30, 2019.
