  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to education; providing for protection of 
  1.3             retirement benefits for certain Ridgewater college 
  1.4             employees. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [CERTAIN EMPLOYEES; PROTECTION OF BENEFITS.] 
  1.7      Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, 
  1.8   a person who is employed as an administrator at Ridgewater 
  1.9   college, Hutchinson campus, and who was employed in a similar 
  1.10  capacity by Hutchinson-Willmar regional technical college prior 
  1.11  to June 30, 1995, is entitled to choose the retirement or 
  1.12  severance provided in the applicable contract on June 30, 1995, 
  1.13  or the state retirement or severance package that became 
  1.14  available to technical college employees upon the merger of the 
  1.15  technical colleges, community colleges, and state universities 
  1.16  on July 1, 1995.
