A bill for an act
relating to capital investment; appropriating money for improvements to publicly
owned infrastructure in the city of Braham.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin BRAHAM; CLEAN WATER AND DRINKING WATER
INFRASTRUCTURE; APPROPRIATION.

new text begin $11,490,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the Public
Facilities Authority for one or more grants to the city of Braham to design, engineer, permit,
and construct publicly owned infrastructure in conjunction with upgrades to the wastewater
treatment plant, improvements to the collection system, clean drinking water infrastructure
including water main replacement in various locations, and water well replacement. This
appropriation is not available until the commissioner of management and budget determines
that at least an equal amount is committed from nonstate sources. Nonstate money spent on
the project before the effective date of this section counts toward the nonstate contribution.
This appropriation is available until the project is completed or abandoned, subject to
Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.
