  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the legislature; changing time for meeting 
  1.3             in sessions; amending Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 
  1.4             3.011. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 3.011, is 
  1.7   amended to read: 
  1.8      3.011 [SESSIONS.] 
  1.9      The legislature shall meet at the seat of government on the 
  1.10  first Tuesday after the first Monday in January May of each 
  1.11  odd-numbered year.  When the first Monday in January falls on 
  1.12  January 1, it shall meet on the first Wednesday after the first 
  1.13  Monday.  It shall also meet when called by the governor to meet 
  1.14  in special session.
