  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; requiring the private sale of 
  1.3             certain surplus state land in Lake of the Woods county.
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PRIVATE SALE OF SURPLUS STATE LAND; LAKE OF 
  1.6   THE WOODS COUNTY.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 94.09 and 
  1.8   94.10, the commissioner of natural resources must convey by 
  1.9   private sale to the adjacent landowner the surplus state land 
  1.10  described in paragraph (c). 
  1.11     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.12  attorney general.  Consideration must be for the appraised fair 
  1.13  market value. 
  1.14     (c) The land to be sold is located in Lake of the Woods 
  1.15  county, Minnesota, and is described as: 
  1.16     (1) the South Half of the Northeast Quarter of section 28, 
  1.17  Township 160 North, Range 33 West; and 
  1.18     (2) the South Half of the Northwest Quarter of section 27, 
  1.19  Township 160 North, Range 33 West. 
  1.20     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.21     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
