  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; appropriating money 
  1.3             to the Iron Range resources and rehabilitation board 
  1.4             for capital projects at Ironworld; authorizing 
  1.5             issuance of bonds. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $4,455,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.9   the commissioner of the Iron Range resources and rehabilitation 
  1.10  board for the purposes specified in this section: 
  1.11     (1) $2,795,000 is for predesign, design, and construction 
  1.12  of an approximately 19,720 square foot addition to the Ironworld 
  1.13  Discovery Center Library, to provide additional museum space, 
  1.14  library space, a conference center, central entry, and storage; 
  1.15     (2) $1,440,000 is for predesign, design, and construction 
  1.16  and installation of lighting and mechanical upgrades in the 
  1.17  interpretive center; and 
  1.18     (3) $220,000 is for roof replacement on the outdoor 
  1.19  amphitheater, two heated buildings, the administration building, 
  1.20  and the history building at the Ironworld Discovery Center. 
  1.21     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.22     To provide the money appropriated in section 1 from the 
  1.23  bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and 
  1.24  issue bonds of the state in an amount up to $4,455,000 in the 
  1.25  manner, upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by 
  2.1   Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the 
  2.2   Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  2.3      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.4      Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.5   enactment.
